Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about a significant critical-minerals project taking shape in Northern Ontario when the MineConnect Roadshow arrives at Twiggs Coffee Roasters in Sturgeon Falls tonight (Thurs, Aug. 20th) from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature a presentation from Volta Metals Ltd., with President and CEO Kerem Usenmez, M.Sc., P.Eng., and Vice-President of Projects Philip Ng, M.Eng., P.Eng., sharing insight into the company’s work and the potential of its Springer Rare Earth Element and Gallium Deposit near Sturgeon Falls.
Volta’s Springer project is a 176-million-tonne rare earth mineral resource, located less than an hour from Sudbury and approximately 30 minutes from North Bay. The property benefits from paved-road access and power lines through the site, with rail and generating infrastructure nearby. Volta has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Nipissing First Nation.
The deposit contains a number of high-value magnet rare earth elements used in technologies ranging from electric vehicles and renewable energy to robotics, artificial intelligence and defence applications. Volta is also investigating significant gallium mineralization, which is not currently included in its mineral resource estimate. Recent metallurgical test work reported rare earth recoveries of up to 88.2 per cent using conventional flotation.
Attendees will hear from two executives with extensive experience moving mining projects from exploration toward production. Usenmez is a licensed geological engineer with more than 25 years of international experience and previously led Metallum through advancement of an Ontario zinc-copper project. He also serves on the PDAC board and chairs its Securities Committee.
Ng brings more than 30 years of operating experience across more than 20 Canadian mines and multiple mill operations. His previous senior roles include COO of Wesdome Gold Mines and SVP Operations at Claude Resources, along with experience at Queenston Mining/Osisko, INCO and Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting.
For MineConnect members, the Roadshow is an opportunity to hear directly from the people advancing a major Northern Ontario critical minerals project, learn where the project is headed and connect with other members of the regional mining community
