TIMMINS — An injection of cash is helping Northern College revitalize its mining school.
The Haileybury School of Mines (HSM) is receiving $150,000 from the RBC Foundation to modernize the classroom and laboratory facilities at Northern campuses.
“Northern College’s Haileybury School of Mines is a vital partner in preparing diverse learners for quality jobs in a growing industrial sector. This collaboration advances RBC Foundation’s mission of supporting long-term collective prosperity.”
Over the past couple of years, Jamie Johnston, Northern’s dean of Mining, Trades, Technology, and Apprenticeship, said Northern has been working with industry partners on the school’s mining offerings.
