Working Warriors Webinar: Effective Diversity Strategies and Inclusion Tools
Date: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023
Time: 9am-10am (EST)
Cost: Free
Format: 40-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session
As part of their work on “reconciliation in the workplace,” Northern Policy Institute is pleased to have Jamie Saulnier from Working Warriors to speak about effective diversity strategies and inclusion tools available to YOU, whether you are an employer, individual, or are a representative of a community or organization. Working Warriors has just launched a new partnership with YES Employment and Contact North to open a Service Hub in Thunder Bay.
Working Warriors has spent years learning about the diversity challenges employers face in the workplace. These challenges are often compounded when owners’ goals must be executed by others throughout the supply chain. This process leads to extra costs and relationship risk with community partners. To address this, Working Warriors has developed effective solutions and teams to assist their clients.
These include:
1. Working with employers to develop diversity goals and strategy plans.
2. Working with contractors to build effective engagement strategies.
3. Working with communities to identify and inventory assets related to HR and ED.
4. Working with education training organizations to develop the workforce.
5. Working with governments to access funding programs.
This FREE webinar will include a 40-minute presentation by Jamie Saulnier, President at Working Warriors, followed by a Q&A session.
Mr. Saulnier graduated from NAIT in Edmonton, AB in 1994 as a Journeyman Welder. In 2001, he started an industrial construction company focusing on capital projects in the resource sector. In 2008 with the realization of a pending labor shortage facing Canada, Jamie set out to build a training program that would give Indigenous people the tools needed to enter the workforce. What followed was the creation of the award-winning platform Working Warriors; a software and consultancy firm that maximizes employment and economic development opportunities for Indigenous people and Industry. The success of this initiative has landed Jamie on the pages of the Globe and Mail, Winnipeg Free Press, CBC Radio and several trade magazines. He has also participated in several round table discussions with Industry, Government, and Indigenous groups.
