The Government of Ontario, in partnership with Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, Export Development Canada, and the Government of Quebec, is hosting a free webinar focused on opportunities in mining industry in Australia.
The webinar will discuss business opportunities for Canada-based mining suppliers (Information and Communication technologies, machinery, environmental technologies, etc.) and companies to sell products and services to mining companies and/or Tier 1 suppliers in Australia.
Australia is recognised globally as the market leader in Mining, as well as the mining supplying industry. The combined Mining Equipment, Technologies and Service (METS)-Mining Sector in Australia contribute an estimated 15% of Australia’s GDP, and almost 10% of all full-time employment – including regional and remote communities.
As the shift of automation in mining moves from mining company led integration of existing equipment, to the implementation of the next generation of digitally enabled technology as well as solutions for the decarbonization from METS companies, the projected growth for the sector is estimated to add more than $50 Billion to the local economy by 2030, according to METS Ignited.
The webinar will cover topics such as:
- Australia’s METS sector trends and overview, by Canadian Trade Commission services (TCS) or an industry expert
- Tips of doing business in Australia with the mining industry, by Export Development Canada (EDC)
- Case study of doing business with Australian mining companies, by Canadian METS companies
