Skeena Resources believed that this decision was done by error
Skeena Resources has responded to the decision made by British Columbia’s Chief Gold Commissioner on the tailings in the Albino Lake storage facility at the past-producing Eskay Creek gold-silver project in BC’s Golden Triangle.
Last August, an individual, Richard Mills, holding a mineral claim on the lands that underlie the Albino Lake material, applied to the commissioner for a determination as to the ownership of the “minerals” in the tailings.
The Albino Lake storage facility is a sub-aqueous deposition of metals, sulphides and certain deleterious elements for the past producing mine. The facility is management by Skeena under the terms of the province’s Lands Act surface lease and authorizations under the Mines Act and Environmental Management Act.
