Mines are increasingly adopting a more data-intensive approach to their operations. Efforts to increase productivity through process and equipment telemetry has illuminated the need for reliable, high-speed communications. Monitoring processes – either through Internet enabled cameras or via smart devices that transmit data back to a centralized source, require higher bandwidths and more robust networks. Leveraging the capabilities of high-speed networks enable mines to implement more effective preventative maintenance programs, leading to increased productivity and reduced downtime.
Through the adoption of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networking technology, Becker Mining Systems creates a digital environment which facilitates the collections, compilation, monitoring, and synthesis of data to give mines valuable insight into the day-to-day challenges that their operations are faced with.
New Data, Reliable Infrastructure
Building on the world-renowned smartcom® Leaky Feeder system, Becker Mining Systems’ engineers have revolutionized LTE installations in mines through the development of our own, proprietary LTE solutions. By adopting a network-agnostic approach, our new LTE over Leaky Feeder amplifiers (UBDA700WW#) offer customers the ability to reduce the cost of their LTE roll-out by eliminating the number of expensive Remote Radio Units required.
