Sudbury, Ontario – May 2, 2025 – In celebration of Mining Week (May 12–18), My Mining Tee is proud to announce an exciting opportunity for local high school students to showcase their creativity and community pride. Students are invited to create a 30-second video answering the question: “Why is mining important to Sudbury?”
The contest is open to all high school students in the Greater Sudbury area. Submissions will be judged by a panel of respected local mining industry experts, and the winners will earn a truly unique experience: an exclusive tour of NORCAT on May 28, 2025, including hands-on sessions with the Thiess Heavy Equipment Operator Simulator and the NORCAT VR Simulator.
“Mining is the heart of Sudbury’s past, present, and future,” says Jeff Lafortune, at My Mining Tee. “We want to hear the next generation’s perspective on what mining means to them and their community.”
