Greenergy has been supplying an underground mining customer in Northern Ontario for many years with higher percentage biodiesel blends such as B10 to B45 from May to September. Their mining customer uses 4 million litres of diesel annually, and by switching parts of its volume to biodiesel blends in 2015, Greenergy helped them to reduce their carbon emissions by 30% and provide direct financial savings of over $26,000. As the carbon tax increased in April 2023 and assuming they blend the same amount of biodiesel, their credit will increase to $34,000.
Government mandates are driving a shift away from fossil-derived fuels, increasing focus and demand for renewable and low-carbon fuel options. Biodiesel is a low-cost solution that can be adopted immediately to start reducing operational emissions and improve air quality in underground mines.
Greenergy’s unique supply infrastructure and blending capabilities allow them to bring supply closer to mining operations and provide customers with higher percentage biodiesel blends at competitive prices. In addition to that, their in-house experience in compliance allows them to manage the carbon-tax process so clients can focus on keeping their mines running.
The Greenergy Charity Program has been in place for over 10 years, and they have donated to charities of all sizes worldwide.
