J&J Machine Works is a family-owned custom manufacturer located in North Bay, Ontario Canada. Established in the community since 1967, we’ve been a staple in the North for over 50 years.
With extensive in-house machining and fabrication capabilities inside a 12,000 square foot facility, we provide a “one-stop-shop” solution for our customers’ manufacturing and repairing needs, bringing their product designs to life and keeping their equipment running.
We pride ourselves on customer service and maintain deep, long-standing ties to the mining, forestry and construction industries. We are especially well-known for servicing and selling mining equipment, including our very own Long Tom Drill carrier.
J&J Machine Works is certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) to CSA standard W47.1 (Division #3), and is also a proud supporter of the Red Seal inter-provincial standards program. We are a proud member of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), and of course MineConnect!
J&J Machine Works operates out of a single location in North Bay, Ontario; however, we enjoy strong relationships with customers and suppliers from all over the North and beyond.
We build just about anything for our customers, but our flagship in-house product is a small pneumatic jumbo known as the Long Tom Drill Carrier. The skid-steer model is fully mobile; self-propelled by strong, independent pneumatic motors driving solid rubber tires. Operators can position drills easily and accurately due to the swiveling, height-adjustable, extendable & retractable booms. With standard face coverage of 8’ wide by 11’ high (expandable with options), our Long Tom is best suited for narrow-vein mining operations — but is large enough to support other underground mining applications as well.
We’re fortunate to operate in the North, where so many of our customers have developed promising new solutions and technologies targeting the mining industry. As a long-time supplier of custom-machined and fabricated components for several well-known large multinational corporations, we’re already helping to build the equipment that will drive the next wave of global mining expansion. With our ongoing commitment to continue our investments in cutting-edge machining & fabricating technologies, we strive to offer our customers dependable lead times and competitive costs as the scope & complexity of their needs increase.
Having noted that several of our vendors and customers were already counted among MineConnect’s membership, we were pleased to accept the invitation to join as well. We have come to view MineConnect as a strong advocate for the mining industry, and a valued partner in outreach and promotion.
We believe that our manufacturing capabilities are an excellent complement to the needs of other MineConnect members, and are excited to leverage the platform to promote our services to them as well as new businesses across Ontario and beyond.
