The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation (SACDC) Board of Directors announced today that Giovanna Verrilli has been appointed new CEO of the Greater Sudbury Airport. An experienced industry leader, Verrilli will replace Todd Tripp and assume responsibilities on August 15, 2022. After 6 years as CEO, Tripp is retiring.
Originally from Sudbury, Giovanna Verrilli worked as Director, Commercial Development, for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. Verrilli led the commercial portfolio that encompasses revenue generation, passenger experience and strategic partnerships at Toronto Pearson.
“The SACDC is focused on enhancing the passenger experience while growing its revenue,” said Dave Paquette, Chair of the Board. “It became evident through the recruitment process that Giovanna was the right fit.” “On behalf of the Board, I would like thank Todd for his leadership, and wish him the best in his retirement,” Paquette continued.
“I’m excited to work with the staff, management team and Board of Directors at the Greater Sudbury Airport, and I look forward to building on the airport’s strength as an economic driver in the community,” said Verrilli. “I’m especially excited to be coming back to my hometown and to be playing a key role in the growth of the airport coming out of the pandemic.”
Giovanna Verrilli graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2000 and received her MBA from Laurentian University in 2020.
