Northern Ontario Exports Program and MineConnect have partnered to present the Mining Supply & Services Export Forum on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Centre in Sudbury. The Export Forum will provide expert insight into nine key domestic and international mining markets: Ontario, Mexico, British Colombia, Saskatchewan, Chile, Nevada, Quebec, and Peru. Award-winning podcaster Amber Mac (This is Mining, The AI Effect) and bestselling author (Power Friending, Outsmarting Your Kids Online) will be the forum emcee and panel moderator. With her vast knowledge of emerging technologies, she is well-positioned to provide key insights into the future of mining while engaging with speakers and attendees.
Keynote Speaker: Torrie Turner, Microsoft
The event will kick off with an enlightening keynote address by Torrie Turner, P.Geol. As Microsoft’s Industry Advisor for Oil & Gas and Mining Americas, Torrie Turner works with resource producers to drive long-term, high-value business outcomes through digital transformation initiatives which enable cleaner and more affordable energy for all.
The keynote session will be followed by a series of concurrent breakout sessions. Each key market breakout session will provide an overview of significant players, projects, forecasted needs, as well as special considerations for doing business in each mining jurisdiction. Information about relevant trade shows and trade missions will also be highlighted. Each of these information-packed sessions will also feature a business-success story from one of Northern Ontario’s mining supply and service providers.

Roundtable Networking Session and Panel Discussion
Following the breakout sessions are a Roundtable Networking Session and a Panel Discussion.
During the Roundtable Session, each presenter from the breakout sessions will be seated at a table where forum participants will be invited to meet them to ask questions in a one-on-one format.
The panel discussion on Technology and the 21st Century Miner will provide further insight into business opportunities, and it will be moderated by Amber Mac with panelists Torrie Turner of Microsoft and Duncan Wood, Vice President for Strategy and New Initiatives at the Wilson Center in Washington, DC. The Northern Ontario Exports Program (NOEP) supports Northern Ontario-based companies that have the potential and drive to grow sales outside of Ontario. The financial and advisory support they provide helps companies kick open the doors to new markets through targeted export marketing, strategic planning, and capacity-building projects. Over 700 export-building projects across Northern Ontario have received support from the NOEP since 2011.
