The College is launching Partner +, an initiative to offer opportunities to our current and future partners to discover new talent, upgrade and train their workforce, gain access to funds and expertise, and find engaging ways to give back by connecting with Cambrian’s community.
“We’re seeing levels of engagement with Cambrian like never before,” says Shawn Poland, Cambrian’s Vice-President of External Partnerships and Strategic Enrolment and the Executive Director of the Cambrian Foundation. “Colleges are uniquely positioned to help our partners and industry. Business and community organizations alike are turning to us for solutions to their staffing, training and research needs.”
Partner + is Cambrian’s new gateway to help new partners navigate the complexity of a college environment, while giving current partners more options to get engaged. The initiative has three main objectives, each serving a unique audience:
- Grow and Innovate: for entrepreneurs, industry partners, and people looking to turn big ideas into reality.
- Train and Hire: for employers and partners looking to upskill their workforce or find new talent.
- Get Involved: for community partners, donors and alumni looking to engage and give back through volunteerism and philanthropy.
“Our partners often share that Cambrian College has become an integral part of their operations,” adds Brandi Braithwaite, Cambrian’s Director of Development and Alumni. “They partner with Cambrian R&D to solve real-world challenges and help grow or improve their operation. They work with our Career Centre to augment their workforce and to provide students with workplace learning opportunities. They look to us as a source of skilled talent when they need to hire, and they also work with our Corporate Training department when they need to provide opportunities for retraining and upskilling to employees.”
Partner + allows Cambrian to better understand and strengthen our B2B relationships. It strengthens our reputation both as a go-to institution for students who want a job-ready education, and the partner of choice for employers looking to grow their potential, recruit top talent, or invest back into the community through philanthropy.
Ionic Mechatronics has seen its relationship with Cambrian grow over the years. The company has conducted research projects, provided feedback on curriculum development on Program Advisory Committees (PACs), sponsored events, and has employees volunteer across the College, including with the Cambrian College Foundation Board of Directors.
