The Sudbury Women’s Centre (SWC) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing information, referral, and support services to women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals who have been impacted by violence and/or difficult life circumstances. Our centre offers key tools and resources that assist individuals in addressing issues of systemic discrimination and violence.
The Sudbury Women’s Centre is currently leading a program that provides valuable, no-cost support to businesses within sectors like mining through our “Breaking Down Barriers: Advancing Workplace Equity and Inclusion” initiative.
This program is specifically designed to support businesses in creating more inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplaces—particularly in traditionally male-dominated industries like mining, manufacturing, and construction. As part of this initiative, we are pleased to offer free services to Ontario-based businesses, including:
- Free training modules on:
-
- Wellness and Empowerment
-
- Mental Health in the Workplace
-
- Supporting Employees Affected by Intimate Partner Violence
- Access to a collaborative network of businesses to share resources, strategies, and best practices for building inclusive workplaces.
- Ongoing support and resources from our team to help businesses implement meaningful and lasting changes that benefit not only women, but the entire workforce.
The project ensures focused delivery and tailored support for participating businesses. We believe these offerings can be a valuable asset businesses seeking to build more inclusive and supportive work environments.
