Romios Gold Resources (TSXV: RG; OTC: RMIOF) and Lakehead University in Thunder Bay have created a partnership to research the Lundmark-Akow Lake gold and base metals project. The project is 100% owned by Romios and located in northwest Ontario’s Patricia division, 18 km from Newmont’s Musselwhite gold mine.
The two-year graduate-level program will be led by Lakehead’s NOHFC Industrial Chair in Mineral Exploration Pete Hollings. Study of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) occurrences and the over-7-km-long alteration zone have begun. Recruitment is ongoing for a graduate student to study samples from significant epithermal-style gold-carbonate veins.
