Founded in 2016, Podco is a Northern Ontario–based product design and development firm delivering innovative, end-to-end solutions across a wide range of industries, including mining.
Podco specializes in electronic and electrical product design, offering complete product development services, from early concept and PCB layout through prototyping, testing, and full production. Their multidisciplinary expertise spans 3D printing, injection molding, app development, and advanced electronics, with a strong focus on creating cost-effective, durable, and easy-to-manufacture products.
Notable projects include FiAR, the world’s first augmented reality fire extinguisher training tool, developed for NORCAT to enhance safety training in the mining sector, and PLANTChoir, a creative Bluetooth device that transforms a plant’s natural electrical signals into music.
In addition to design and development, Podco offers in-house emissions and immunity testing, including conducted and radiated emissions, RF field testing, ESD, voltage dips, and electrical fast transients.
