Last week, the MineConnect team hit the road to support and engage our members across Ontario, proving once again that meaningful connection is at the heart of what we do.
🚗 Sault Ste. Marie Roadshow
Hosting a MineConnect Roadshow is always a rewarding experience—and our recent stop in Sault Ste. Marie was no exception.
Project Manager Heather Johnston and Special Projects Officer Dorin Ugoh enjoyed productive conversations with local businesses and mining suppliers, reinforcing our mission to build relationships that strengthen Ontario’s mining supply and services sector.
Our guest speaker Douglas Thajer from Fracht Group, shared valuable insights on the logistical challenges and opportunities currently impacting supply chains across Canada – a timely topic. Thank you, Doug!
We were also honoured to welcome Chris Scott, Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministry of Energy and Mines and MPP for Sault Ste. Marie. His presence and engagement with our members reaffirmed the growing recognition of the importance of mining suppliers in shaping Ontario’s economic future.
To cap off the evening, the team joined Science North & Dynamic Earth at the Hangar After Dark murder-mystery event—a thrilling finale to a meaningful day.
Special thanks to our SSM event sponsors:
📍Elsewhere Across Ontario…
While some of the team was in SSM, others were hard at work across the province:
- Executive Director Marla Tremblay spent a few productive days in Greater Sudbury, attending the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce’s strategic planning and networking session, the Raise Bore Social hosted by Technica Mining, and attended an important announcement at MacLean Engineering with Ontario Minister of Mines Stephen Lecce and Parliamentary Assistant Chris Scott regarding the newly introduced legislation that will, if passed, cut red tape and streamline approvals to speed up critical mineral and resource development projects, including in the Ring of Fire.
- Director of Member Relations, Paul Finley was in Kirkland Lake for MCBC – Beaverhouse First Nation’s Partnership Day, and then made his way to the City of Timmins to connect directly with many of our members.
We’re proud to show up, collaborate, and advocate—wherever our members are.
🚀Next stops: CIM Connect in Montreal and then the Temiskaming Shores Roadshow!
