Mining suppliers and related organizations are invited to take part in the MineOpportunity Challenge on October 15 and 16, 2026, at Laurentian University, as part of Sudbury Mining Week.
MineOpportunity is an interactive, team-based challenge for students in Grades 9–12. Through questions, problem-solving and hands-on activities, students discover the range of careers involved in Ontario’s mineral resources industry and meet the people doing that work.
Your company can help bring those careers to life by contributing industry-related questions, leading a simple hands-on activity, hosting an interactive station, providing volunteers to encourage student teams or supporting the event through sponsorship. It’s a chance to show students what your company does and help them picture a future in mining.
MineOpportunity has introduced more than 4,000 students to the industry. MineConnect and Laurentian University’s Goodman School of Mines are now working together to bring the challenge to more communities throughout Ontario, with funding from the Province of Ontario and Agnico Eagle Mines Limited.
