That’s the message Wilton delivered to would-be investors July 7 in a 6ix web presentation in providing an update on what happens next at its proposed northwestern Ontario greenfield development in the wake of the completion of the federal environmental assessment.
The approval marked the end of a lengthy federal review process that began in 2018 on the trail to advance their large gold and silver deposit that was discovered by a predecessor company, Gold Canyon, in 2009-2010.
“Every large mine in Canada goes through it,” said Wilton in reflecting on an environmental process that actually began for the company more than 10 years ago.
Located 110 kilometres northeast of Red Lake, Wilton said Springpole will stack up as one of Canada’s largest gold mines, capable of producing 300,000 ounces a year over a 10-year mine life.
