Ontario’s critical minerals plans will take centre stage as mining companies, First Nations, governments, investors, infrastructure providers and downstream buyers meet for two days of discussions on project development, processing and regional growth.
The Ontario Critical Minerals Forum returns after a sold-out inaugural event in 2025. More than 70 speakers will take part in keynote presentations, project case studies and panel discussions examining the decisions required to advance nickel, lithium, copper, graphite and other critical minerals projects.
Northern Ontario will be a major part of the agenda. Many of the province’s prospective mining projects, infrastructure needs and economic opportunities are located in the region, including the Ring of Fire. Sessions will examine co-development, infrastructure planning, ownership and long-term economic participation involving First Nations, mining companies and government.
The program will also cover midstream processing, financing and strategic capital, permitting reform, existing Northern Ontario mining operations, electricity transmission, roads and other regional infrastructure. Automotive, battery and defence supply-chain representatives will discuss changing sourcing requirements and the role of Canadian and allied-country supply in global markets.
