Simon Blakeley Biography
Simon is originally from the United Kingdom, but now lives in North Bay, Ontario, where he works remotely as the ‘Regional Manager of Program Development and Government Relations’ for reThink Green .
reThink Green is a not-for-profit environmental organization, headquartered in Sudbury, which now provides programs and services to support businesses, organizations, and communities across Northeastern Ontario – as they transition to a low carbon future.
Simon previously gained a Joint Honour’s Undergraduate Degree in Geography and Planning from The University of Birmingham, and a master’s degree in Urban Environmental Design from Leeds Metropolitan University.
He has since gained post-graduate Certificates in the Principles of Business and Administration, Carbon Mitigation, Managing Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Projects.
Altogether, Simon has approaching 20 years’ professional experience in strategic planning, business, and community economic development – with a focus on achieving the goal of sustainable growth and development through measurable results.
Simon seeks to engage others to develop better business practices, and to coordinate strategies, action plans, and projects that demonstrate best practice solutions, and empower us to face head-on the risks of Climate Change.
