MineConnect has partnered with My Mining Tee and Sudbury Mining Camp on a year-long campaign aimed at raising awareness about the mining industry among local youth while demonstrating appreciation for its members.
“We are excited to partner on such a great campaign. One of the key challenges faced by our members is that of recruitment and raising awareness among our youth is a key part of the solution”, said Todd Domney, President of MineConnect.
Beginning in November 2022, MineConnect will draw the name of one of its members in good standing on a bi-weekly basis. The draw will be followed by an announcement featuring the winning member’s logo along with links to the My Mining Tee and Sudbury Mining Camp websites in MineConnect News and on its social channels. A member of the MineConnect team will then make an in-person delivery of a limited edition t-shirt from MyMining Tee, the northern Ontario-based collection of vintage-style t-shirts promoting mining and trades, apparel, to the winning member, which will include a photo opportunity to be shared online.
“With a focus on mining-related employment, this partnership will help us in achieving our ultimate goal of inspiring area children to consider the mining as a career.” – Jeff Lafortune, MyMining Tee
Sudbury Mining Camp will provide one UNDERGROUND! My Mining Adventure book to an area school for each member name drawn by MineConnect.
“We are conscious of the fact that attracting young people into the mining field is not easy and by supporting this campaign, MineConnect and its members will be helping transform the lives of local children by inspiring in them an awareness of our mining community.” —Theresa Nyabeze, Author and local Mining Engineer.
